Ambassadors’ Club Hosted Farewell Reception for Ambassador Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly

“Egypt, with its ancient civilization and vibrant society, has always had a special place in my heart. Tonight is not only a farewell, but also a celebration of the friendship between Egypt and Nepal, and the goodwill Noha leaves behind,” Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parjulai Dhakal said.

Kathmandu: The Ambassadors’ Club organized a farewell reception dinner on June 6, 2025, in honour of Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. The event celebrated Ambassador Noha’s diplomatic contributions and her deep engagement with Nepal during her tenure.

A range of dignitaries and delegates attended the event, including Pradeep Kumar Gyawali (former Foreign Minister of Nepal), Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal (President of Ambassadors’ Club), Bimal Dhakal (Publisher of The Diplomat Nepal magazine), Rob Fenn (Ambassador, United Kingdom), Golam Sarwar (Secretary General, SAARC), Torun Dramdal (Ambassador, Norway), and Numan Özcan (Country Director, ILO). 

Moreover, Mohammad Humayun Kabir (Chargé d’Affaires, Bangladesh), Chameera Munasinghe (Chargé d’Affaires, Sri Lanka), Mohd Firdaus bin Azman (Chargé d’Affaires, Malaysia), Hamad Al-Hayaf (Third Secretary of Qatar), Jennifer A. Monaco (Foot and Ankle Surgeon, USA), and Kapil Dev Regmi (Engineer and Entrepreneur) were also present at the reception.

Speaking at the event, Ambassadors’ Club President Dr. Dhakal praised Ambassador Noha for her grace, wisdom, and vision. Recalling their meetings, Dr. Dhakal described Noha as a warm, sincere, and thoughtful diplomat.

“Egypt, with its ancient civilization and vibrant society, has always had a special place in my heart. Tonight is not only a farewell, but also a celebration of the friendship between Egypt and Nepal, and the goodwill Noha leaves behind,” Dr. Dhakal said. 

Dr. Dhakal extended her best wishes for Noha’s future endeavors, adding, “The Club has grown into a platform for cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and professional collaboration. As a cherished friend of the Ambassadors Club, you will always remain a part of our family.”

In her remarks, Ambassador Noha expressed gratitude to the Ambassadors Club for organizing the farewell and reflected warmly on her time in Nepal. “As my tenure here comes to an end, I deeply appreciate the time I spent in Nepal—both professionally and personally. These past four years have been a truly transformative experience for me,” she shared.

She also expressed how glad she felt to be part of the Ambassadors Club since its inaugural phase, and extended her best wishes to the team for their continued success in fostering dialogue, friendship, and collaboration in the diplomatic community.

The Ambassadors’ Club Nepal is a non-partisan platform for resident and non-resident Ambassadors, Heads of Mission, and Diplomats accredited to Nepal, aiming to foster diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation.
