Nepal and Bangladesh established diplomatic ties on April 8, 1972. Bangladesh was the 51st country to establish bilateral ties with Nepal. Nepal and Bangladesh work closely in various regional and international platforms, including the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement, South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation, and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.

Nepal and Bangladesh have been working towards enhancing trade and investment cooperation. To further facilitate trade, a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) is currently under negotiation. Nepal and Bangladesh’s relations are built on goodwill, mutual understanding, and shared values. The bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh will continue to grow through enhanced political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
