Health Minister Paudel Gathers Suggestions from Nepali Health Professionals in Thailand

Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, held a discussion with Nepali health professionals, academics, and medical students based in Thailand to explore ways to strengthen Nepal’s health sector by learning from Thailand’s experience.

Minister Paudel, who is currently in Bangkok to attend the United Nations Ministerial Meeting on Population Policy, participated in the interaction program organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok on Tuesday.

According to his personal secretariat, Minister Paudel sought suggestions from the Nepali community regarding Thailand’s healthcare system, health education, and health insurance. He expressed confidence that insights from those familiar with both Nepal and Thailand’s healthcare environments would be particularly valuable in shaping future reforms.

Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Prasad Oli, highlighted the active involvement of Nepalis in Thailand in higher medical education, clinical practice, business, and policy-making. He emphasized that this exchange of experiences could open new avenues for collaboration.

During the discussion, Nepalis involved in developing a healthcare service provider app also expressed their willingness to expand their services to Nepal.
