Nepal-China Digital Health Cooperation Program Held in Guangzhou

The event featured presentations from health experts of both countries on topics such as AI in healthcare, digital integration, and health data management.

Kathmandu: The Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou organized the “Nepal-China Digital Health Cooperation Program” under the theme “Bridging Healthcare Futures” at the Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, on June 26. The hybrid event brought together over 150 participants, including government officials, health experts, academicians, and members of the Nepali diaspora.

Pradip Paudel, Minister for Health and Population of Nepal, addressed the event via video message, stressing the role of digital innovation in strengthening Nepal’s healthcare system. Chief Guest Kiran Thapa Magar, Health Minister of Bagmati Province, highlighted regional health initiatives and the potential of technology-driven solutions.

Nepal’s Consul General in Guangzhou, Bharat Khanal, welcomed the participants. Senior Chinese officials including Deng Linfeng of the Guangdong Health Commission and Zhou Duanhua of the Guangzhou Health Commission expressed commitment to expanding cooperation in digital health.

The event featured presentations from health experts of both countries on topics such as AI in healthcare, digital integration, and health data management. A panel discussion and interactive session followed, with virtual remarks from Dr. Anil Karki, President of the Nepal Medical Association.

The program concluded with a networking dinner, fostering stronger ties between Nepali and Chinese healthcare stakeholders.
