Kathmandu: In the first semi-final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-16 East Zone Cup 2025, Nepal won against Malaysia by a big margin of 9 wickets.
After winning the toss, the Nepal U-16 team chose to field first, eventually restricting the Malaysian batsmen to 90 runs in 43.1 overs. Malaysia’s Muhammad Fathul Fatri became the top scorer with 38 runs.
For Nepal, Abhay Yadav took 4 wickets, while Shubham Khanal picked 3 wickets, and Bipin Sharma and Sachin Bhatt contributed with 1 wicket each.
In the second innings, Parimarjan Yadav and Prashiddha Jaishi opened the batting for Nepal. Yadav contributed the highest 59 runs. He had a good partnership with Shiwansh Bajgain, who scored 23 runs. With the loss of just one wicket, Nepal chased the target in 11.4 overs.
Nepal now proceeds to the U-16 Finals, where they will face Singapore. Singapore won its semi-final match against Hong Kong, China by 4 wickets to reach the finals.
