Kathmandu: At a UN side event on “Mountains as Key to Accelerating the 2030 Agenda,” Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, emphasized key priorities for mountain development.
He called for targeted, predictable, and accessible climate finance, investment in resilient mountain economies, and greater engagement of women and youth. Ambassador Thapa also stressed the need to mainstream the mountain agenda and strengthen mountain-specific data systems to support sustainable development.
