Petri Puhakka Assumes Role as Finland’s New Head of Mission in Nepal

Kathmandu: Petri Puhakka officially begins his position as the new Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu on August 1.

He was appointed by the President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, on May 23.

Puhakka brings years of diplomatic experience to the role. He previously served as the Ambassador for Disability Inclusion and was Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Kuala Lumpur from 2016 to 2020. He also held key roles as Director of Human Resources Development from 2012 to 2016 and Head of the East Asia Team from 2011 to 2012. 

Puhakka joined Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1995 and holds a master’s degree in international marketing.
