Kathmandu: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal organized a photo and graffiti exhibition titled “July Beyond Borders” at its premises in Kathmandu, marking the first anniversary of the historic July Mass Uprising of 2024 in Bangladesh.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of ambassadors from various countries, the secretary-general of SAARC, representatives of UN organizations, former ambassadors of Nepal to Bangladesh, business leaders, medical professionals, artists, students, and members of civil society. Members of the Bangladeshi community in Nepal also attended the event.
A visiting Bangladeshi delegation led by the Adviser for the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Supradip Chakma, participating in the “Hindu Kush Himalaya Parliamentarians’ Meet” event, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Standing Committee Member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tasnim Zara, and Senior Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), attended the event as well.
The exhibition featured a curated selection of photographs and graffiti art created during the uprising, vividly portraying the intensity of the protests, the pain of loss, and the spirit of resistance that united an entire nation. A documentary film on the July–August Mass Uprising was also screened, adding further depth to the commemorative programme.
According to the Embassy, the exhibition aimed to share the heroic struggle of the Bangladeshi people with Nepal and the wider international community. It forms part of a series of events being organised from 16 July 2025 to commemorate the July–August Mass Uprising in Bangladesh.
