ECOSOC President Lok Bahadur Thapa Meets UNGA President Philemon Yang

Kathmandu: Lok Bahadur Thapa, the newly elected President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), held a meeting with Philemon Yang, President of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation between the General Assembly, ECOSOC, and other UN organs. They also highlighted the importance of continued interaction among the UN bodies to advance shared goals.

Discussions further touched on the priorities of Thapa’s term as ECOSOC President. On the occasion, UNGA President Yang extended his best wishes to Thapa for a successful tenure.
