Energy Minister Dipak Khadka Meets Uruguayan Ambassador Guani to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Minister Khadka outlined Nepal’s ambitious target of generating 28,500 megawatts of electricity by 2035.

KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, held a courtesy meeting with Uruguay’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Nepal, Alberto A. Guani, at the Ministry in Singha Durbar on June 3.

The two sides discussed opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and irrigation.

Minister Khadka outlined Nepal’s ambitious target of generating 28,500 megawatts of electricity by 2035 and emphasized the need for continued support and collaboration from international partners and donor agencies to achieve this goal.

Commending Uruguay’s notable success in wind and solar energy, Minister Khadka expressed interest in exploring avenues for technical cooperation and investment in Nepal’s growing renewable energy sector.

He invited Uruguayan stakeholders to identify and engage in potential areas of collaboration that could benefit both nations.
