Former JICA Volunteers Honored on Second JOCV-Nepal Day in Japan

Ambassador Subedi honored former JICA volunteers Kohei Tanaka and Toyoko Uesaka for their significant contributions to Nepal’s development.

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Japan, in collaboration with the Ex-JOCV Nepal Association, organized the Second JOCV-Nepal Day to celebrate the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Japan through volunteer engagement.

During the event, Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Ambassador of Nepal to Japan, honored former JICA volunteers Kohei Tanaka and Toyoko Uesaka for their significant contributions to Nepal’s development. The two volunteers were recognized for their dedicated service and longstanding support in areas such as education, health, and community development.

Ambassador Subedi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the selfless work of Japanese volunteers in Nepal over the years, stating that their efforts have helped strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.
