Labour Minister Bhandari Addresses ILC 2025 in Geneva, Meets ILO Director-General

KATHMANDU: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, addressed the International Labour Conference (ILC) 2025 in Geneva on June 9.

In his remarks, the Minister emphasised Nepal’s commitment to achieving sustainable economic growth through the promotion of decent jobs and called for broader international cooperation to ensure social justice.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Bhandari held a meeting with the Director-General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Gilbert F. Houngbo. The two discussed ways to strengthen Nepal-ILO collaboration, with a focus on advancing decent work opportunities and reinforcing social protection systems in Nepal.

The meeting reaffirmed both parties’ shared commitment to inclusive labour policies and further cooperation to support Nepal’s socio-economic development.
