KATHMANDU: Dr. Surendra Thapa, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in India, recently met with senior leaders of Bhutan during a visit marked by warm exchanges and shared aspirations.
Dr. Thapa met with Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan. Describing the interaction as “overwhelming and inspiring,” Dr. Thapa praised the Prime Minister’s profound insights on critical issues such as climate change, cultural tourism, and the deep-rooted Buddhist heritage shared by Nepal and Bhutan.
Similarly, he also formally called on Lyonpo D. N. Dhungyel, Foreign Minister of Bhutan. He expressed sincere gratitude for the gracious hospitality and thoughtful dialogue, which focused on strengthening bilateral ties and fostering regional understanding.
Dr. Thapa reaffirmed the importance of enduring friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Bhutan, underscoring shared cultural values and mutual interests in sustainable development and heritage preservation.
