KATHMANDU: A photo exhibition in Nepal’s capital has drawn attention to the changing mountain habitats, emphasizing their connection to tourism, cultural identity, and the growing threats posed by climate change and rising temperatures.

Organized by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Nepal’s National News Agency, the exhibition titled “Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity” showcases 96 stunning photographs that capture the diverse beauty of Nepal’s mountains. The collection spans from the majestic Kanchenjunga in the east to Mt. Api and Saipal in the far west, and also features breathtaking images of Mount Everest, Annapurna, Machhapuchchhre, Sisne Himal, and the waterfalls of Rukum.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi, emphasized the significance of the exhibition.

“This photo exhibition serves as an important platform to promote Nepal’s mountain tourism. It is not only visually captivating but also highly informative and inspiring,” said Joshi. “It encourages people to explore the country’s unique landscapes and helps raise awareness about the impacts of climate change on these fragile environments.”

The exhibition was organized to mark Nepal’s 18th Republic Day. Joshi further added that the Nepal Tourism Board is ready to collaborate in bringing the exhibition to a wider audience across the country and beyond.
