Bayalpata Hospital, run by NGO Nyaya Health Nepal in collaboration with provincial and local governments, serves as a key medical center for multiple districts in Karnali.

Kathmandu: The Government of Japan has handed over medical equipment to Bayalpata Hospital in Sanfebagar Municipality, Achham District, under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) program.

The handover ceremony was attended by Tamura Takahiro, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of Japan to Nepal. The grant, amounting to USD 66,263 (approximately Rs 8.9 million), supported the installation of medical equipment for trauma care and orthopedic surgery at the hospital.

Bayalpata Hospital, run by NGO Nyaya Health Nepal in collaboration with provincial and local governments, serves as a key medical center for Achham, Bajura, and Doti districts of Sudurpaschim Province, and Kalikot and Dailekh districts of Karnali Province.

Tamura expressed appreciation to all involved in the project and hoped the support would enhance access to quality healthcare in rural areas and further strengthen the friendship between Japan and Nepal.

Since 1991, over 200 GGP projects have been implemented in Nepal to support grassroots-level socio-economic development.
