Foreign Minister Dr. Rana Reaffirms Nepal’s Support to Trace Missing Nepali’s in Uttarakhand

Dr. Rana said the Government of Nepal has already initiated diplomatic efforts to aid the search and rescue operation.

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister of Nepal, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, has voiced deep sorrow over reports of several Nepali nationals missing in the recent Uttarakhand flood and landslides, reaffirming Nepal’s continued support for those affected.

Dr. Rana said the Government of Nepal has already initiated diplomatic efforts to aid the search and rescue operation. She confirmed that the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi has been instructed to coordinate closely with the Government of India to locate the missing Nepali citizens.

According to the Uttarakhand government, 566 passengers have been evacuated from the disaster-hit Dharali and Harsil, Uttarkashi, with the evacuation of the remaining 300 people still underway, ANI reports.

Dr Rana also extended her condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives in the flood and landslides.
