Five Nepali Missing After Uttarakhand Floods: Nepal’s Embassy in New Delhi

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal in India has said five Nepali were missing after the Uttarakhand floods. Embassy in New Delhi confirmed that no Nepali nationals were among those rescued or deceased in the devastating flood and landslide that struck Dharali in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, on August 5.

According to the Uttarakhand Police, 372 people have been safely rescued, and two bodies have been recovered from the site.

However, following a similar flood and landslide in Bagoda, Pauri Garhwal district, on August 6, five Nepali citizens remain missing. Of the four injured Nepalis, three have returned home after receiving treatment, while one is still undergoing medical care at a local hospital.

The Embassy of Nepal continues to coordinate closely with the Uttarakhand government and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to monitor the situation of Nepalis in the affected areas, facilitate search and rescue operations, support medical treatment, and provide any necessary assistance.
