Kathmandu: Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural heritage will now be promoted to a global audience through TikTok. The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) signed a partnership agreement with TikTok on August 19, 2025 in the presence of Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey.
The collaboration aims to showcase Nepal’s mountains, scenic landscapes, cultural heritage, and vibrant traditions through creative short videos on the platform.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Pandey expressed confidence that the agreement would play a significant role in boosting Nepal’s tourism promotion. “This is not just an agreement but a bridge connecting Nepal to the world. Through a global platform like TikTok, we have the opportunity to share Nepal’s mountains, culture, festivals, and hospitality with millions of viewers worldwide,” he said.
NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi described the agreement as a milestone, noting that international travel creators will be invited to experience Nepal’s diverse attractions, from mountains and lakes to monasteries, temples, and rural homestays, and share their journeys digitally.
TikTok’s Head of Public Policy for South Asia, Ferdous Mottakin, also welcomed the partnership, stating that millions of people discover new destinations and experiences on TikTok every day, and this collaboration would help put Nepal on the global tourism map.
As part of the initiative, TikTok will organize workshops in Nepal to train local content creators on storytelling, audience engagement, brand collaboration, and professional presentation skills.
