Chinese New Year Garden Party Held in Kathmandu to Strengthen Cultural and Tourism Ties

Kathmandu: The Chinese New Year Garden Party was successfully organized on February 20 at the China Cultural Center in Nepal in Kathmandu, bringing together more than 330 guests from China and Nepal.

The event was jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Nepal, China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, with special support from the Confucius Classroom at L.R.I. International School.

Among the distinguished guests were Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Zhang Maoming, Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Sinha, Civil Aviation Authority Director Mr. Khan, and representatives and friends from various sectors of both countries.

The venue was decorated with lanterns and festive ornaments, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere. During the pre-event session, a large outdoor screen showcased highlights from the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, promotional videos on China’s winter tourism, and an introduction to China Southern Airlines. Representatives of the China National Tourist Office and China Southern Airlines delivered presentations under the “Nihao! China” tourism promotion campaign, highlighting travel destinations and convenient flight routes between Kathmandu and Chinese cities.

During the program, Ambassador Zhang, Minister Sinha, and other dignitaries exchanged greetings and shared messages of friendship. Traditional cultural performances, the “Tempo of China” photo exhibition, interactive activities, and authentic Chinese cuisine offered guests an immersive experience of Chinese culture. Nepali songs and dances performed on the same stage further enriched the celebration, reflecting the spirit of cultural exchange and friendship.

Organizers noted that the China Cultural Center in Nepal will continue to serve as a cultural bridge and tourism link, fostering deeper mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Nepal and further strengthening bilateral ties.
