Kathmandu: Moscow hosted the “Days of International Theatre Cooperation” STD RF from July 13 to July 17. Thirty young theatre professionals – actors, directors, and managers – from 12 countries came to the Russian capital. Nepal was represented by Sabin Nyepane, Executive Producer of Shailee Theatre, who traveled to Moscow with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Embassy of Russia in Nepal.
Over several days, the participants attended the opening ceremony at STD RF, a strategic session on theatre ties across BRICS and CIS countries, excursions around Moscow, creative meetings, and workshops. They also visited the Stanislavsky House-Museum, where they learned about the life and artistic legacy of the great Russian director, theatre reformer, and creator of the world-famous acting system, and later toured the Bolshoi Theatre and took part in a roundtable on the prospects for international cooperation.
Among the most memorable moments for Sabin were the evening performance at the Mossovet Theatre and the musical Anna Karenina at the Moscow Operetta Theatre.
On the final day of the program, Sabin managed to walk around Moscow and ride the metro, describing the city’s underground system as unique and especially beautiful.
He said the trip gave him not only vivid emotions, but also a chance to meet theatre professionals from different countries, exchange experience, and see new opportunities for future projects.
