Kathmandu: An agreement was signed between Nepal and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 24 for the establishment of an ADPC Sub-center in Nepal.
The agreement was signed by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr Bishnu Prasad Gautam and Executive Director of the ADPC Mr Aslam Perwaiz in the presence of Foreign Secretary Mr Amrit Bahadur Rai and Home Secretary and Chair of the ADPC Board of Trustees Mr Raj Kumar Shrestha.
The Sub-center is expected to further strengthening Nepal’s disaster resilience capacity and sustainable growth. ADPC is a not-for-profit intergovernmental organisation and Nepal is currently the Chair of the ADPC Board of Trustees for the year 2025-2026.
