Prime Minister Karki Thanks India for Support Ahead of Upcoming Elections

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed gratitude to the Government of India for its support in the preparation and conduct of Nepal’s upcoming elections.

During a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on February 10, Prime Minister Karki thanked the Indian government for providing vehicles and various logistical materials to assist Nepal in conducting the elections scheduled for Falgun 21, which will be held under special circumstances.

According to the Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal, the Prime Minister acknowledged India’s timely assistance as a meaningful contribution to ensuring a smooth and effective electoral process.

In response, Ambassador Srivastava stated that it is India’s responsibility to support Nepal’s democratic process as a close and friendly neighbour. He further noted that the democratic and constitutional stability Nepal achieves following the elections will also be important for India.

The meeting underscored the close bilateral relations between Nepal and India and their shared commitment to strengthening democratic institutions.
