Kathmandu: Marking the International Day of Clean Energy, the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) organized a National Forum titled “Clean Energy in Action: Decarbonizing Nepal’s Economy.” The event brought together policymakers, development partners, private sector representatives, and energy experts to exchange experiences, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration in support of Nepal’s clean energy transition.
Representing German Development Cooperation, a senior energy expert from GIZ Nepal highlighted the critical role of energy efficiency in reducing emissions and enhancing sustainability. The expert emphasized ongoing support for policy development, institutional strengthening, awareness raising, and the implementation of energy efficiency measures across Nepal.
The Head of KfW Nepal underscored the vital role of the private sector—particularly commercial banks—in driving a sustainable and socially just energy transition. The remarks reaffirmed Germany’s continued commitment to supporting the development of Nepal’s clean energy sector.
Discussions throughout the forum reflected a shared commitment among stakeholders to advancing a cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable energy future for Nepal.
