Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has stated that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation in the West Asia region and is actively working to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of Nepali citizens living there. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepali diplomatic missions across the region remain operational and are coordinating continuously to provide rescue and assistance to Nepali nationals who may face difficulties.
The ministry informed that Nepali embassies and consulates in West Asia are functioning as usual. Citizens requiring essential services, including passport-related work, are advised to contact their respective missions through the phone numbers or email addresses provided and schedule an appointment before visiting. For updates on flight availability, individuals are encouraged to check with relevant airline companies, travel agencies, and Nepali missions.
Authorities in several West Asian countries are issuing daily updates regarding security measures and public safety advisories. The ministry has urged Nepali citizens in the region to remain informed by following official announcements, safety guidelines, and updates released by local governments and Nepali diplomatic missions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also appealed to Nepali nationals to remain calm, alert, and vigilant during this period and to refrain from recording or sharing any unauthorized photos, videos, or audio materials.
To gather updated information on Nepali citizens residing in the region, the Department of Consular Services has launched an online registration system. As of this evening, a total of 54,786 Nepali citizens have registered their details. The ministry said the collected information is being reviewed on a priority basis to facilitate necessary actions when required.
Meanwhile, air travel across much of West Asia remains limited but has not been completely halted. Some flights continue to operate from certain locations. Limited services of Flydubai and Air Arabia are operating in the United Arab Emirates, and flights have resumed at Dubai International Airport after temporary disruptions. Air services to Saudi Arabia and Oman are also currently operating, allowing Nepali citizens to travel if necessary.
The ministry has further requested Nepali citizens facing any problems to immediately contact the Ministry’s Emergency Action Room through its telephone numbers or email, or to reach out to the Nepali diplomatic missions in their respective countries for assistance.
