Nepal Ranked 7th Among Top Solo Travel Destinations for 2025

Nepal was also recognized as a budget-friendly destination, offering affordable accommodations, travel packages, and a wide range of cultural and natural experiences.

Kathmandu: Nepal has been ranked seventh in the list of top solo adventure travel destinations for 2025, according to UK-based adventure tourism company Much Better Adventures.

The country received high marks for its unique landscapes, rich cultural heritage, budget-friendly services, and a wide range of adventure activities. Treks to Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit, along with jungle safaris in Chitwan National Park, have made Nepal a top pick for solo travelers seeking both peace and adventure.

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has welcomed the ranking, highlighting its ongoing efforts to enhance the solo travel experience by providing safety through local guides, accessible information, and a well-balanced mix of cultural, natural, and adventure-based attractions. The NTB also emphasized its focus on community participation and conservation in mountain areas, national parks, and heritage sites as part of its responsible tourism policy.

Nepal was also recognized as a budget-friendly destination, offering affordable accommodations, travel packages, and a wide range of cultural and natural experiences. “Nepal offers solo travelers stunning nature, deep spirituality, and warm hospitality, whether in the bustling streets of Kathmandu or the serene Himalayan trails,” said Sam Bruce, co-founder of Much Better Adventures. He added that the list was based on expert insights and feedback from travelers.

Kirsty Holmes, Content Manager at Much Better Adventures, who recently visited Nepal solo, shared her personal experience: “Walking in Annapurna and wandering around Chitwan made me feel at home.”

Italy topped the list of 2025’s best solo travel destinations, followed by Japan, Norway, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Nepal, Montenegro, Jordan, and Greece.

NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi expressed his commitment to leveraging such international recognition to promote Nepal strategically and improve travel experiences for visitors.
