Nepal Showcases Adventure and Nature-Based Tourism in Paris

Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) promoted Nepal as a premier destination for adventure and nature-based tourism at the International French Tourism Mart – IFTM Top Resa 2025 held in Paris.

Marking the 75th anniversary of French climber Maurice Herzog’s historic 1950 ascent of Annapurna, the NTB highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Nepal and France, noting how Herzog’s feat has long inspired French travelers to visit Nepal.

French tourists remain among Nepal’s most loyal visitors, favoring destinations such as Everest Base Camp, the Annapurna Circuit, trekking routes in Langtang, and the cultural sites of the Kathmandu Valley. With growing interest in sustainable and experiential travel, Nepal is increasingly positioned as a spiritual destination for French travelers.

At the Nepal Pavilion, NTB representatives Sagar Shrestha and Rajiv Jha, along with six Nepali travel companies, engaged European tourism professionals to showcase Nepal’s adventure, cultural, and nature-based offerings. The NTB said its participation aims to strengthen partnerships in the French and wider European market, attract more visitors, and highlight Nepal’s readiness for authentic and sustainable tourism experiences.

IFTM Top Resa is France’s largest B2B tourism exhibition, bringing together global tourism boards, travel agencies, and tour operators on one platform.
