Kathmandu: Newly appointed five ambassadors to Nepal formally presented their letters of credence to President of Nepal Ram Chandra Paudel during separate special ceremonies held at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, on February 24.
President Paudel received letters of credence from five newly appointed ambassadors–three resident and two non-resident.
Three resident ambassadors were Australian Ambassador to Nepal Simon George Ernst, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador Fahd Mohammad Ajmi Mnikhr, and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming. Moreover, two non-resident ambassadors were Ambassador of the Maldives to Nepal, Aishath Azeema, and Ambassador of Turkey to Nepal, Ali Murat Ersoy, reads the statement of the Office of the President.

The ceremonies were conducted in accordance with diplomatic protocol and were attended by senior officials of the Government of Nepal. As part of the traditional reception, the ambassadors were escorted in a ceremonial buggy accompanied by a risalla (cavalry contingent) from Lazimpat to the President’s office.

With the presentation of their credentials, the ambassadors are formally accredited to represent their respective countries in Nepal and to further strengthen bilateral relations.
