Kathmandu: H.E. Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, addressed the Africa Regional Ministerial Mid-term Review of the Doha Programme of Action for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in his capacity as Chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the LDC Group in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Ambassador Thapa highlighted the resilience and progress of African LDCs while calling for renewed global solidarity and urgent action to address persistent challenges, including food insecurity, limited productive capacity, climate vulnerability, digital gaps, and constrained access to development finance.
He said, “We must translate the commitments of the Doha Programme of Action into tangible results through greater investment in people, productive capacity, digitalization, climate resilience, regional trade, and sustainable financing.”
