Kathmandu: H.E. Lok Bahadur Thapa, UN ECOSOC President, participated in the event on “Accelerating Energy Systems Innovation and Transition for Equity and Resilience to Advance Global Sustainable Development.” During the event, he stressed that SDG7 is more than one goal among many, it is an enabler of the entire 2030Agenda.
President Thapa stated that accelerating energy transitions is both an urgent necessity and a major opportunity. He said, “We must ensure that the transition is equitable, resilient and inclusive through greater investment, innovation, capacity-building and international cooperation, so that no country is left behind.”
