ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has halted all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
Afra Al Hameli, Director of the Strategic Communications Department at MoFA, rejected allegations concerning the status of the UAE’s economic relationship with Iran.
Al Hameli said the decision comes amid regional and international security escalations and emphasized that the UAE remains committed to dialogue, cooperation and regional integration as essential means of promoting peace, stability and prosperity.
She also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the international financial system while responding to the prevailing regional security situation.
