14th European Union Film Festival to Begin in Nepal on November 14

Kathmandu: The 14th European Union Film Festival (EUFF) is set to take place in Kathmandu from November 14 to 16 at Chhaya Centre, and in Pokhara from November 21 to 23, showcasing a diverse selection of international and Nepali films.

This year’s edition will feature 25 films, including 10 European films, six BAFTA-nominated short films from the United Kingdom, and nine short Nepali films, according to the organisers.

Bidya Maharjan, Information Officer at the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, said the films were chosen for their exploration of themes such as identity, social life, resistance, transformation, courage, memory, hope, language, and culture.

Selected European films include Banjo (Portugal), Je’vida (Finland), Happy (Austria), Without Air (Hungary), and The Girl From Tomorrow (France and Italy).
BAFTA-nominated shorts such as Wander to Wonder, Rock Paper Scissors, Mog’s Christmas, Milk, and Adios will also be screened, alongside Nepali short films curated from local artists and film organisations.

Organised by the EU Delegation to Nepal, all screenings will be free of cost and include English subtitles.
The festival will also host interactive events aimed at strengthening connections between art, film industry, and education.
