9th India–Nepal Joint Agriculture Working Group Meeting Begins in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The 9th India–Nepal Joint Agriculture Working Group (JAWG) meeting began in Kathmandu on December 28, aiming to review progress and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector.

The meeting is being co-chaired by Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda, Additional Secretary at India’s Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, and Dr Hari Bahadur K.C., Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Discussions are focused on assessing ongoing cooperation and identifying new areas to deepen collaboration in agriculture.

This meeting marks a new phase in India–Nepal partnership, as it is the first JAWG meeting being held under the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding on Agriculture Cooperation signed on April 9, 2025.
