Acting PM Singh and World Bank Regional Vice President Zutt Meet

Kathmandu: Acting Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh, and World Bank Vice President for South Asia, Johannes Zutt, held a meeting on September 2, 2025.

During the meeting held at the Urban Development Ministry, they discussed on collaboration between the World Bank and the Ministry on new projects.

They also discussed various issues, including the Greater Lumbini Area Development Project and urban physical infrastructure construction, garbage management, among others, in Kathmandu. 

Saying the ministry’s initiative to forward the projects focusing in two places was appreciable, Vice-President Zutt opined that the World Bank was positive for the collaboration. 

The WB would provide support in Lumbini, as well as areas of urban infrastructures construction, environmental pollution reduction and river cleaning in the Kathmandu Valley, he mentioned.

It is believed that this visit would further strengthen partnership between the government of Nepal and the World Bank.

Acting PM Singh extended gratitude towards WB’s support on different projects of the Urban Development Ministry and expressed hope for collaboration in new projects.
