Kathmandu: Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, received Diene Keita, Executive Director of UNFPA, at the Mission. He congratulated her on her appointment and commended UNFPA’s leadership in advancing population dynamics through evidence-based demographic data, reproductive health, and sustainable development initiatives.
They exchanged views on the longstanding partnership between Nepal and UNFPA, while underscoring the importance of harnessing Nepal’s significant demographic dividend through investments in youth, education, health, skills, and employment.
