Kathmandu: The Ambassadors’ Club Nepal organised a special appreciation programme, “Celebrating Young Innovators,” on 18 August in Kathmandu, bringing together representatives of the National Innovation Center (NIC), young innovators, students from Nepal and abroad, diplomats and distinguished guests.
The programme highlighted the importance of innovation, technology, creativity and youth leadership in Nepal’s development and provided a platform to recognise young people who are exploring new ideas and developing solutions to real-world challenges.
Welcoming the participants, Ambassador Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of Ambassadors’ Club Nepal, said the programme was designed not only to appreciate young innovators but also to demonstrate how diplomacy can create opportunities for young people to connect, exchange ideas and collaborate internationally.

She expressed appreciation to the National Innovation Center for its contribution to Nepal’s innovation ecosystem and for creating opportunities for young people to transform ideas into practical solutions.
“Great ideas do not belong to any particular country, age or background. When young people are given the opportunity to connect, collaborate and innovate, they can create solutions that make a real difference.”
Amb. Dr. Dhakal emphasised that the role of diplomacy is evolving beyond traditional government-to-government relations. According to her, students, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs are increasingly becoming important bridges between countries and communities.
She encouraged the young innovators to remain curious and persistent, saying:
“Do not be afraid to start small. Every great innovation begins with a question, an observation or a simple idea. Keep learning, keep experimenting and keep improving.”
She also encouraged international students participating in the programme to maintain their connections with Nepal and expressed hope that they would return in the future as researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators and international partners.
Young Innovator Shares Experience
Kabir Goel, a Year 12 student at The British School, Muscat, and an aspiring Computer Engineer, thanked Amb. Dr. Dhakal and the Ambassadors’ Club Nepal for organising the programme.

Sharing his experience at the National Innovation Center, he said he was particularly inspired by both the innovative work being undertaken at NIC and its wider impact across Nepal. He expressed his desire to return to Nepal in the future and continue developing collaborative projects.
National Innovation Center Highlights Opportunities
Sanjay Jha, General Manager of the National Innovation Center, also addressed the programme and appreciated the participation of young innovators and students. He emphasised the importance of providing young people with opportunities to learn, gain practical experience, undertake internships and contribute to innovation.
Representatives of NIC subsequently shared their experiences and explained how the Center supports individuals and organisations in developing innovative ideas, conducting research and transforming concepts into practical solutions.
The participants also discussed how innovation can help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, particularly by developing tools and demonstrations that make complex concepts easier for students to understand.
Ambassadors’ Club Nepal’s Commitment to Innovation
The programme reflects the Ambassadors’ Club Nepal’s commitment to supporting young people, encouraging innovation and strengthening international engagement through diplomacy.
The Club recognises that Nepal’s future development and global competitiveness will increasingly depend on its ability to nurture technology, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation.
By bringing together the diplomatic community, young innovators, students and institutions such as the National Innovation Center, the Club aims to help create greater opportunities for knowledge exchange, mentorship, international exposure and collaboration.
The programme concluded with networking and dinner, allowing participants to exchange ideas and establish new connections.
Ambassadors’ Club Nepal reaffirmed that supporting young innovators is an investment in Nepal’s future—and that innovation can become a powerful bridge connecting Nepal with the world.
