Ambassadors Club Nepal Hosts Welcome Reception for Newly Arrived Envoys

Kathmandu: The Ambassadors Club Nepal, in collaboration with the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) and The Diplomat Nepal, hosted a warm welcome reception in Kathmandu on December 12  to honor newly arrived ambassadors and celebrate Nepal’s enduring diplomatic partnerships.

The reception welcomed Petri Juhani Puhakka, Ambassador of Finland; Sherif Mostafa Al Sayed Aldiwany, Ambassador of Egypt; Dagny Mjøs, Ambassador of Norway; Ruwanthi Delpitiya, Ambassador of Sri Lanka; and U Thant Sin, Ambassador of Myanmar. Whereas Amb. Puhakka, Amb. Aldiwany, and Amb. Mjøs were along with their spouses, respectively.

Addressing the gathering, President of the Ambassadors Club and IRGDD, Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, highlighted the importance of friendship, dialogue, and mutual understanding in strengthening Nepal’s relations with the international community. The event brought together ambassadors, senior government officials, representatives of the United Nations and international financial institutions, the head of a security agency, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Moreover, Park Tae-Young, Ambassador of South Korea; Mishal Mohammed Al Ansari, Ambassador of Qatar; Mohd Firdaus bin Azman, Chargé d’Affaires of Malaysia; Raju Aryal, Inspector General of Armed Police Force; Numan Özcan, Country Director of ILO; Bandana Rana, member of UN CEDAW; Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Alshamsi, Ambassador of UAE; Pranav Kumar Gupta, Resident Representative of IMF; Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of SAARC; Hari Kumar Pokharel, Director General of Department of Railways; Bimal Dhakal, Publisher of The Diplomat Nepal and Vice President of The Ambassador Club and IRGDD; Amb. Kali Prasad Pokhrel, Vice-President of International Relations; were also present at the program.

From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Gahendra Rajbhandari, Head of the South Asia Division; Kumar Raj Kharel, Chief of Protocol; and Lok Bahadur Poudel (Srijan), Spokesperson and Head of Public Diplomacy Division, along with other guest, were present at ‘Welcome Reception for Newly Arrived Envoys’.
