
Kathmandu: An international art exhibition titled “Art in Himalayas 2026” is currently underway at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) from January 13.
The exhibition features 80 artworks by more than 15 artists from Nepal as well as from the United States of America, Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Canada, and Ireland.
During the inaugural ceremony on January 13, NAFA Chancellor Naradmani Hartamchhali expressed the view that the event is expected to promote the arts while providing a platform for cultural exchange among the participating countries.
The exhibition is a joint initiative of the Department of Painting and the Department of Interdisciplinary and Other Creative Arts of NAFA, in collaboration with The Essence of Mulranny. Speaking at the event, Irish artist and Mulranny’s Chief, Lora D. Murphy, said she has received immense love from Nepal since her first visit to the country 30 years ago.
NAFA’s Sanjaya Bantawa Rai stated that the exhibition highlights artworks representing oriental imagism, myths, mountains, and the Terai, thereby strengthening international bonds through art.
The exhibition is set to conclude on Thursday, January 15.
