Kathmandu: Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, H.E. Simon Ernst, held a courtesy meeting with Hon. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal. Various matters of bilateral interest were discussed in the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Singha Durbar on October 1.
Foreign Minister Khanal discussed about the harmonious relations between the two countries. He said that they will cooperate more in the future. Besides, he also discussed about strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries.
Hon. Minister Khanal expressed sincere gratitude to the Government of Australia for its continued friendship, solidarity and generous support following the devastating floods, and looked forward to Australia’s continued partnership in Nepal’s reconstruction and rehabilitation, including support for access to Loss and Damage financing.
Ambassador Ernst expressed his gratitude for receiving him and reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to stand with Nepal in its recovery efforts, including through practical cooperation on disaster resilience. He also reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to further strengthening Nepal-Australia relations, including through the Australia Awards Scholarships and strong people-to-people ties.
