Kathmandu: The Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club (BMTC) today hosted a Flag-in Ceremony in honour of Bangladeshi mountaineer Nurunnaher Nimni, who successfully summited Himlung Himal (7,126 metres) in Nepal on 3 November 2025.
Nimni reached the peak carrying the banner “Rise for Her,” an initiative aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer among women.

Deputy Chief of Mission of Nepali Embassy in Dhaka, Lalita Silwal attended the ceremony as the special guest on November 21. In her remarks, she emphasized the enduring friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh, noting that the shared love for mountains and adventure continues to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.
Silwal congratulated Nimni on her remarkable achievement and praised her commitment to a cause of great social importance. She expressed confidence that Nimni’s accomplishment would inspire more women to take up mountaineering and follow their aspirations with courage and determination.

The ceremony, held in Dhaka this afternoon, brought together members of the mountaineering community, supporters, and well-wishers to celebrate Nimni’s milestone expedition.
