Kathmandu: The third meeting of the BIMSTEC Working Group on Customs Cooperation was held virtually on December 2.
During the meeting, member states reviewed, negotiated, and updated the draft text of the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters aimed at facilitating the BIMSTEC Free Trade Area. According to officials, the discussions focused on refining the agreement with the goal of finalizing it in the near future.
The working group is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional trade integration and streamline customs cooperation among BIMSTEC member countries.
