Kathmandu: A new travel book titled Niayatra Bhutan: Yatra Ek Anubhuti Anek, authored by Bhuwan Paudel, was released in Kathmandu. The book was unveiled by Loknath Sharma Chapagain, former Minister of Economic and Natural Resources of Bhutan.
Based on the author’s visit to Bhutan from June 20–24, 2025, the book captures his experiences from preparations to the completion of the trip. Paudel, who has served in Nepal’s diplomatic service for 17 years, has shared his observations on Bhutan’s geography, economy, social life, and culture. He highlights Bhutan’s achievements in education, health, tourism, and its exemplary policy of balancing environment and development, including the country’s success in maintaining zero carbon emissions.
The author notes that Bhutan’s progress and good practices can serve as useful lessons for Nepal. The introduction to the book was written by Madhuwan Poudel, former Nepali Ambassador to Kuwait and a storyteller, who has visited Bhutan five times.
Former ambassadors, diplomats, international relations experts, and media representatives attended the launch ceremony. The book is expected to be a valuable resource for readers interested in Bhutan and in learning from its development practices.
