Kathmandu: The British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, and Development Director, Pippa Bird, met with the Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Kulman Ghising, on September 23.
The discussions focused on how the United Kingdom, as both a bilateral and multilateral partner, could extend practical support to Nepal’s democratic transition and economic development. The talks also highlighted areas across the breadth of the minister’s portfolio where collaboration could strengthen Nepal’s progress.
At the meeting, Minister Ghising said that the main priority of the government formed after the Gen-Z movement was to rebuild the structures damaged by the movement, to maintain general elections and good governance. As Nepal’s old friend, Britain, the ongoing cooperation to increase the use of electric vehicles by installing charging stations is being effectively implemented, says the Minister.
Minister Ghising urged to cooperate in the field of public-private partnership, which was considered successful in infrastructure construction in Britain, and to follow it in Nepal, as well as in the study of green hydrogen, the possible risk of snow explosion due to climate change. As Britain and Nepal are full friends, Ambassador Fenn said that the success of Nepal is the success of his country.
