CESIF Hosts Special Event to Mark 250th Anniversary of the USA

Kathmandu: The Centre for Social Innovation and Foreign Policy (CESIF) hosted a special commemorative event at Basera Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu to mark the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

The event was attended by Hon. Shisir Khanal, Minister for Foreign Affairs, as the Chief Guest, who delivered the keynote address.

Scott Urbom, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of the US, delivered Special Remarks where he said, ““I believe the next phase of the United States-Nepal relationship should increasingly be defined by trade, investment, technology, and shared prosperity.” CDA Urbom highlighted how America’s 250 years of constitutional freedom, free enterprise, and innovation continue to guide U.S. efforts to expand trade, investment, technology, and shared prosperity with Nepal.

Bringing together former diplomats, academicians, friends of the media, and young scholars, the event reflected on shared democratic values, economic cooperation, and the deep-rooted ties between Nepal and the United States. Discussions on green energy, U.S. innovation, and empowering the next generation of civic leaders highlighted that democracy is an ongoing and vibrant project that requires active participation from all citizens.
