Kathmandu: Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki left for the United Nations Headquarters in New York on July 5 to participate in the 5th United Nations Chief of Police Summit (UNCOPS) to be held from July 7 to July 8.
Inspector General of Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, along with Inspector General of Armed Police, Narayana Dutt Poudel, also left for the summit.
Inspector General Karki was bid farewell by Additional Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police and other senior police officers at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The agenda of the summit includes reflection on the future of UN Police, leveraging new technologies, strengthening international cooperation, strengthening UN Peace Keeping through language training, high level network on gender responsive policing, etc.
On the occasion of the summit, Inspector General Karki will have a bilateral meeting and discussion with high officials of the United Nations and members of the United Arab Emirates delegation.
In the absence of Inspector General Karki, Additional Inspector General of Police Rajan Adhikari will take over the daily administrative work of the Nepal Police Headquarters.
