Kathmandu: Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China, on March 27, extended a congratulatory message to Shisir Khanal on his appointment as the Foreign Minister of Nepal.
In his message, Wang—also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee—highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries. He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, China and Nepal have remained traditional friendly neighbors, standing together through both favorable and challenging times.
Wang emphasized that bilateral relations have consistently advanced on the foundation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, underscoring mutual respect, sovereignty, and cooperation.
Expressing optimism for the future, Wang conveyed China’s readiness to work closely with Minister Khanal to implement the important consensus reached between the two sides. He also reaffirmed commitment to further strengthening the China-Nepal strategic partnership of cooperation, characterized by enduring friendship aimed at development and prosperity.
