Chinese Ambassador Zhang Calls on Home Minister Aryal

Kathmandu: Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at the Ministry of Home Affairs of Nepal on March 10.

During the meeting, Minister Aryal congratulated Ambassador Maoming on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure in Nepal.

Ambassador Maoming expressed confidence that he would carry out his responsibilities effectively and further strengthen the friendly relations between Nepal and China.

Home Minister Aryal said Nepal expects continued cooperation from China in the economic and social sectors and expressed hope that future collaboration would expand further. He also proposed multilateral cooperation as well as cooperation in the telecommunications sector and cybercrime control.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maoming thanked the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs for conducting the recent elections in a peaceful and secure environment. He appreciated the ministry’s efforts in election security and border management.

The ambassador also reiterated China’s commitment to Nepal’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, national interests and independence, while expressing readiness to further strengthen the long-standing ties between the two countries.
