Kathmandu: In continuation with the 80th Independence Day celebrations, the Consulate General of India in Birgunj organized yet another musical evening in Hetauda on 17 August 2026.
A 7-member ICCR-sponsored troupe led by Shri Rajesh Pandey presented soulful musical performances. H.E. Shri Deepak Prasad Devekota, Governor of Bagmati Pradesh (Nepal), graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Shri Basant Adhikari, Chief District Officer of Makwanpur district, was the distinguished guest.
Consul General Shri D.S. Meena in his welcome address highlighted the deep rooted India and Nepal friendly relations and emphasized the role of music in furthering these relations, while the Chief Guest underlined the multifaceted India and Nepal relations as well as their shared history, culture and religion.
A good number of people, including representatives of public and political parties, senior government officials, representatives of chambers and social organisations, students, media and people from different walks of life, observed the performance by the 7-member ICCR troupe from India, led by Shri Rajesh Pandey.
