Consultative Meeting Held to Develop CEDAW Action Plan

Kathmandu: A consultative meeting was held on July 10 under the leadership of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens to develop an action plan for the implementation of CEDAW recommendations.

CEDAW member Bandana Rana participated in the meeting, along with Minister Nawal Kishore Sah Sudi, Secretary Laxmi Kumari Basnet, and Joint Secretary Aabha Shrestha Karn.

The action plan aims to promote collaboration among various ministries, UN agencies, and civil society. It marks an important step towards ending discrimination against women by translating CEDAW recommendations into practice, in line with Nepal’s constitutional rights and international commitments.
