Deputy Permanent Representative Gyan Bahadur Magar Addresses IAHWG at UN Headquarters

Kathmandu: The Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Gyan Bahadur Magar, addressed the Informal Ad Hoc Working Group (IAHWG) at the United Nations Headquarters on January 20.

Speaking on behalf of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Group, Ambassador Magar emphasized that United Nations reform must strengthen the development pillar, close existing implementation gaps, and ensure accountability for development-related mandates.

Moreover, he further called on Member States to ensure that the UN-80 Initiative remains evidence-based, transparent, Member State-led, and fully resourced, so that commitments to the most vulnerable countries are reinforced rather than weakened.
