Kathmandu: Gyan Bahadur Magar, Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to Geneva, intervention at the Interactive dialogue on accelerating the global energy transition, DPR Magar highlighted Nepal’s acute climate vulnerabilities and underscored the urgency of delivering on the promises of the Paris Agreement, COP outcomes, 2030 Agenda, ICJ Advisory Opinion, and other global commitments to advance a just, orderly, and equitable global energy transition.
Sharing Nepal’s progress, structural constraints, and priorities of climate frameworks, including NDC 3.0, DPR Magar called for stronger global cooperation and partnerships to triple renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030; scale up climate finance and clean energy investments; and accelerate renewal technology transfer, innovation, capacity-building, and knowledge sharing, tailored to the development needs of developing countries, particularly countries in special situations.
